Santa Clara, California – September 10, 2026Mantra Health, the digital mental health provider built exclusively to support student well-being and success across higher education, today announced a three-year collaboration with Santa Clara University to deploy Beacon, Mantra Health’s whole-student intelligence platform. Santa Clara is adopting Beacon independent of its virtual clinical care offerings, reinforcing the platform’s standalone value for institutions.

The private, Jesuit Catholic institution and California’s oldest operating higher education institution has long been a leader in student mental health promotion. Guided by the Jesuit value of Cura Personalis (care for the whole person) and grounded in the Eight Dimensions of Well-Being model, the University has made significant investments in student mental health and wellness initiatives, including its Counseling and Psychological Services and Wellness Center, which offers wellness coaching and survivor advocacy. Santa Clara is a designated JED Campus and has also adopted a Therapist in Residence model, with licensed mental health professionals living and working directly in campus residence halls.

As part of its Impact 2030 strategic plan, which considers student belonging and connection to be essential contributors to the overall student experience and strong retention and graduation rates, Santa Clara is deepening its investment in proactive, whole-student support.

“We believe Beacon will contribute to our Belonging for All Broncos goal, which aims to ensure that every student has access to a full range of campus resources and is connected to our community, especially those who’ve just stepped on campus,” said Heather Dumas-Dyer, Associate Vice Provost for Student Health, Counseling and Well-Being. “We know well-being and student success are inseparable. Beacon will support a proactive, coordinated model of care. By connecting meaningful student insights with campus resources and expertise, we can identify opportunities earlier, strengthen prevention, and make strategic, data-informed decisions about where our resources can have the greatest impact.”

Beacon complements the University’s robust continuum of care by reaching students who might never seek help on their own. Beacon uses wellness assessments to trigger real-time alerts and population-level analytics on student wellness and persistence. This extends Santa Clara’s existing support model to students who may be at risk but haven’t yet engaged with counseling or other campus resources. The platform delivers personalized Santa Clara resource recommendations to students and gives staff actionable insights and predictive alerts, enabling university care providers to shift from reactive to proactive support.

“Santa Clara University has made significant investments in student mental health, and this partnership shows that even the most well-resourced campuses want a way to reach every student as early as possible, long before they ask for help or stop out,” said Matt Kennedy, CEO and Co-founder of Mantra Health. “Beacon gives Santa Clara a way to see the students who haven’t yet sought care and act before a basic concern becomes a reason to leave.”

In September 2026, Beacon will roll out to the University’s approximately 1,600 incoming first-year, full-time students, expanding to include second-year students in years two and three of the partnership, with the potential to reach the full student population thereafter.

Beacon is designed to complement an institution’s existing services and population-level visibility to identify who’s at risk, who needs support, and where to direct resources most effectively.
